Liverpool FC have sent French forward Anthony Le Tallec to newly promoted Ligue 1 side AS Saint-Etienne on a season's loan. The 19-year-old made 23 appearances for the Premiership club last term, but returns to French football where he last appeared for Le Havre AC in the 2002/03 campaign - also on loan. "I wanted people to see me and to be able to play for an entire season. I think at St Etienne I will have the chance to do that," Le Tallec said.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's neighbours Everton FC have recruited Australian defender Eddy Bosnar on a free transfer from SK Sturm Graz. The 24-year-old former NK Dinamo Zagreb player has agreed a one-year deal with the Goodison Park team.

A side new to the Premiership this season, Crystal Palace FC, have signed Hungarian international Sándor Torghelle from MTK Hungária FC. The 22-year-old striker, who has scored three goals in seven full international appearances, will link up with compatriot Gabor Kiraly, one of a number of new arrivals at Selhurst Park this summer.

Belgian outfit KV Oostende have signed strikers Zéphirin Gnahoua Zoko and Brandon James Santalab. Zoko joins from French third division side AS Cannes, where the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international was top scorer last season. He has agreed a one-year contract, while 21-year-old Australian Santalab arrives from Sydney United on a two-season deal. Oostende have also landed Cercle Brugge KSV left-back Kristoff Van Robays, 25, on a two-year contract.

Also in Belgium, K. Lierse SK have secured the services of forwards Esteban Solari and Milen Georgiëv. Argentinian Solari, 24, moves from Italian Serie D side AC Chioggia. The younger brother of Real Madrid CF's Santiago Solari, he has signed a one-year deal with an option for another two seasons with Paul Put's team. He said: "I want to help the coach with his ambition to turn Lierse into a side just below the top teams." Georgiëv, 30, has agreed a one-year contract after leaving PFC Naftex Burgas.
