Trobok steals the spoils

A last-minute goal from Goran Trobok continued FC Spartak Moskva march up the Russian Premier League.

A dramatic last-minute winner from Goran Trobok earned FC Spartak Moskva a narrow 2-1 win at FC Kuban Krasnodar and three important points in the Russian Premier League tonight.

Last-gasp strike
With the match locked at 1-1 and seemingly destined for a draw, the Serbo-Montenegrin midfield player struck in the 90th minute to earn a result that moved the vastly improved visitors up to sixth with their third consecutive victory - a run which began after a three-month winless run and that has taken up eight places in little over a fortnight.

Early advantage
Striker Nikita Bazhenov had put Spartak in front in the ninth minute, but Stepan Reznik's 67th-minute equaliser seemed to have earned the home side a point before Trobok's last-gasp intervention. Kuban remained one place off the bottom with 13 points from 18 matches so far.
