Celtic stretch Scottish lead

Celtic FC continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a 3-0 victory against Dundee FC.

Scottish Premier League champions Celtic FC continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Dundee FC on Saturday.

Camara double
On-loan Senegalese striker Henri Camara scored his first competitive goals for the club with John Hartson adding his fifth strike of the season in between. The victory means that Martin O'Neill's side are already seven points ahead of city rivals Rangers FC, who lie fourth after Alex McLeish's men again disappointed and were held to a 0-0 draw against Heart of Midlothian FC at Tynecastle on Sunday.

‘That’s a blow’
Second-placed Aberdeen FC also had to settle for one point when Mark Wilson converted a penalty with eight minutes remaining to give Dundee United FC a share of the spoils at Tannadice. Worse still for Aberdeen, the defender who conceded the spot-kick, Zander Diamond, suffered knee ligament damage in the challenge and could be out of action for two months. "It's a blow because the kid's been doing magnificently," said manager Jimmy Calderwood.

Invincible strike
Kilmarnock FC drew level on nine points after an impressive 2-0 win away to Livingston FC. Defender David Lilley broke the deadlock for the visitors with a header on the hour mark and summer signing Danny Invincible sealed the win with his fourth goal of the season on 72 minutes.

Dunfermline draw
In the lower half of the table, Dunfermline Athletic FC remain bottom after Motherwell FC scored an equaliser with just two minutes remaining to make it 1-1. Scott McDonald fired an unstoppable volley past Derek Stillie from 30 metres to secure a point for Terry Butcher's men after veteran striker Craig Brewster had opened the scoring on nine minutes.

Riordan goals
The point brings Dunfermline to within a point of second-from-bottom Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC after the Scottish Premier League newcomers lost 2-1 against Hibernian FC at Pittodrie. Derek Riordan scored either side of Barry Wilson's equaliser to give Tony Mowbray's side their second win of the season.
