Bolton check Arsenal's advance

Members

Arsenal FC stayed top of the Premiership but their 100 per cent record ended against Bolton Wanderers FC.

Pedersen's late equaliser
The Gunners took the lead through Thierry Henry after 31 minutes but Bolton struck back shortly after the hour as Tunisian defender Jaidi Radhi turned in Jay-Jay Okocha's corner. Robert Pires put Arsenal back in front within three minutes but substitute Henrik Pedersen drew the visitors level again with five minutes to go. Arsenal stay top of the Premiership with 16 points but Chelsea FC can join them there if they beat Tottenham Hotspur FC tomorrow. Bolton remain in third place.

Winning start for Hughes
At Ewood Park, Matt Jansen ensured a winning start for Blackburn Rovers FC's new manager Mark Hughes by scoring the only goal against Portsmouth FC in the 75th minute. Two goals from Nicolas Anelka, meanwhile, were enough to give Manchester City FC their first away win of the season and ease the pressure on manager Kevin Keegan. Anelka scored after 55 and 64 minutes - the second strike from the penalty spot - before Andy Johnson's penalty pulled a goal back for Palace, who have now lost five of their opening six matches.

Fulham down to nine
There was drama at the Hawthorns where Kanu's 88th-minute header rescued a point for West Bromich Albion FC in a 1-1 draw with a Fulham FC side who ended the match with nine men. Striker Andy Cole was both hero and villain for Fulham scoring in the 72nd minute but then being sent off for punching West Brom defender Neil Clements. Clements had been dismissed moments earlier for a professional foul. Fulham's Papa Bouba Diop was sent off shortly after the hour.

Yorke scores
Dwight Yorke's first goal for Birmingham City FC earned his side a 1-1 draw at home against Charlton Athletic FC, who had led through Luke Young's goal. It finished goalless between Norwich City FC and Aston Viilla FC in the day's other match.
