Ziege was operated on today, after scans confirmed the seriousness of an ankle injury sustained during Saturday's Bundesliga match with FC Hansa Rostock, which finished in a 2-2 draw.
Ever present
The 32-year-old, who was made club captain by Mönchengladbach after joining on a free transfer from Tottenham Hotspur FC, faces at least four weeks on the sidelines. Ziege was in Germany's UEFA EURO 2004™ squad but was not involved in the recent friendly against Brazil.
