Article body
Mick Wadsworth has resigned as coach of SC Beira-Mar after just four Portuguese SuperLiga games.
Personal reasons
The English coach has cited personal reasons as the main reason behind his decision and was not present at this morning's training session, responsibility for which passed to his assistant José Alberto Costa. The club are expected to make an official statement on Wadsworth's departure soon.
Four games
Wadsworth earned six points in his four games with Beira-Mar, which left them four points adrift of league leaders SL Benfica. His final match was a 2-1 win at Vitória FC on Friday. A much-travelled coach, Wadsworth has worked in England at Carlisle United AFC, Scarborough FC, Colchester United FC, Huddersfield Town FC and Oldham Athletic FC, and was Sir Bobby Robson's assistant at Newcastle United FC.
