Turkish Superleague strugglers Kayserispor have sacked coach Hüsnü Özkara after a 4-1 home defeat by Samsunspor on Saturday. The promoted side have taken just two points from seven games and are third-bottom of the table. Özkara, 49, led Kayserispor into the top flight last term having joined the club from Konyaspor. His replacement should be named on Wednesday.
In Germany, 1. FSV Mainz 05 coach Jürgen Klopp will finally gain his professional licence by attending a German Football Association coaching course. The 37-year-old is officially Mainz's team manager, but led the club to promotion last season, even though for the last two years the licensed Zeljko Buvac has nominally been coach. Klopp will now formalise his position in charge of the side by following a weekly course in Cologne - "a solution that won't endanger my position at Mainz".
