Article body
Arsenal FC stretched their unbeaten English Premiership run to 48 games - and their lead to five points - by beating Charlton Athletic FC 4-0 at Highbury.
Henry double
Fredrik Ljungberg put the home side ahead with a cool left-foot finish before Thierry Henry's back-heel made it 2-0. Henry added a third before José Antonio Reyes completed the scoring with a fierce drive. Second-placed Chelsea FC can reduce the gap tomorrow when they welcome Liverpool FC.
Tottenham triumph
Everton FC remain third despite losing 1-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur FC. Noë Pamarot claimed the only goal on 53 minutes - his first since leaving OGC Nice for Tottenham - to take his side into the top four
Villa draw
Aston Villa FC could have gone fourth themselves but needed Olof Mellberg's equaliser ten minutes from time to draw 2-2 at Blackburn Rovers FC. Juan Pablo Ángel scored for the visitors on 25 minutes but Barry Ferguson and Brett Emerton struck to give Blackburn the lead before Mellberg secured Villa's fourth straight Premiership draw.
West Brom delight
West Bromwich Albion FC are the first of the three promoted sides to pick up a win after defeating high-flying Bolton Wanderers FC 2-1. Nwankwo Kanu and Zoltán Gera - who both joined West Brom on the same day in July - scored early in the second half, meaning Stylianos Giannakopoulos's subsequent strike was only a consolation.
Norwich comebacks
Norwich City FC remain winless but came from behind twice to hold Portsmouth FC 2-2. Southampton FC dropped into the bottom three as they drew 0-0 with Manchester City FC.
Further fixtures
On Sunday, other than the game at Chelsea, Manchester United FC welcome Middlesbrough FC and Newcastle United FC go to Birmingham City FC. Bottom side Crystal Palace FC play Fulham FC on Monday.
