AC Chievo Verona and Cagliari Calcio both moved to within a point of Serie A leaders Juventus FC after Saturday victories

Chievo win
The visitors to Chievo, US Lecce, could have gone top with a win, but the home team went ahead three minutes after the interval when Roberto Baronio's free-kick deflected off the visitors' wall and into the net. Simone Tiribocchi added the second in the 79th minute when he directed the ball beyond goalkeeper Vincenzo Sicigano. Two minutes into added time Mirko Vucinic struck a superb consolation goal for Lecce with a shot from outside the box.

Three out of five
Antonio Langella's first goal of the season eight minutes from time proved decisive as Cagliari picked up their third win in five games with a 2-1 victory against Brescia Calcio. Gianfranco Zola's penalty had given Cagliari an early advantage before Andrea Caracciolo headed an equaliser. Cagliari forward Mauro Esposito and Brescia defender Davide Zoboli were shown red cards in the final minutes for violent conduct. The remaining eight weekend games are on Sunday, including Juve's trip to Udinese Calcio and AS Roma's meeting with FC Internazionale Milano.
