The 27-year-old, who has scored two goals already in his first Serie A season, cut his left thigh after crashing into an advertising board. It will take at least three weeks for the wound to heal and for Giampà to begin his rehabilitation.

VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach will be missing defender Milan Fukal for at least six weeks because of a calf problem. The Czech international was replaced at half-time during Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Hannover 96 after sustaining the injury. The 29-year-old does not require surgery but will have his leg put in plaster. Staying in Germany, DSC Arminia Bielefeld have signed Brazilian midfielder Renato Bauer. The 24-year-old former C. Atlético Mineiro player joins on a free transfer having been without a club since the summer.

Kilmarnock FC forward Kris Boyd could be sidelined for six weeks after twisting his knee in training. The Scottish Under-21 international has scored seven times this season, including five goals in one game against Dundee United FC. Meanwhile, Heart of Midlothian FC look like being without striker Mark de Vries for Wednesday's Premier League match at Dundee United. The Dutchman is recovering from a poisoned toe.

Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Beer-Sheva FC have appointed Eli Cohen as coach until the end of the season less than a week after Eli Guttman left the club. The 50-year-old Cohen, who has previously coached Beitar Jerusalem FC, Hapoel Petach-Tikva FC, Maccabi Haifa FC and Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC, was unveiled in a press conference on Monday having been out of football since being sacked by Maccabi Netanya FC four matches into last season.
