Capello ready for Roma showdown

Juventus FC coach Fabio Capello faces AS Roma for the first time since his shock summer move from Rome.

By Paolo Menicucci

Juventus FC coach Fabio Capello faces AS Roma tonight for the first time since his shock summer move from the Stadio Olimpico.

Successful start
Capello has enjoyed a successful start to his time in Turin. Juventus lead Serie A with six wins from seven games and have conceded just two goals in the league so far. Roma, in contrast, have yet to find their rhythm and are already on their third coach in five months since Capello's departure.

'Too much tension'
Unsurprisingly, Capello, who led Roma to the title in 2001, does not regret taking charge of the Bianconeri. "There is too much tension in Rome while the situation is totally different here," he said. "There is a particular environment in that city, unique in the football world. The tension makes it tough to work in, even if I did stay there for five years."

Totti disappointment
Roma captain Francesco Totti has never hidden his disappointment at Capello's decision to join Juventus. The coach, however, did not want to fuel the controversy. "I haven't got a problem with anyone," he explained. "A coach can't stay with one club forever."

Trezeguet injured
The match at the Delle Alpi will also be special for Jonathan Zebina and Emerson, who made the same journey as Capello last summer. The Bianconeri are still without injured David Trezeguet so should start with Alessandro Del Piero, who scored twice in Saturday's 3-0 win at AC Siena, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack.

Cassano returns
Roma coach Luigi Del Neri has included Antonio Cassano in his squad after the 22-year-old forward missed the 1-1 home draw with US Città di Palermo on Sunday.
