Silvio Schröter scored twice as Hannover 96 defeated high-flying VfL Wolfsburg 3-0 on Sunday.
Lienen delight
Wolfsburg would have moved back to the top of the Bundesliga table with victory, but were put to the sword by Ewald Lienen's side at the Niedersachsenstadion. Midfield player Schröter opened the scoring on seven minutes and doubled the home side's lead 19 minutes into the second half before substitute Daniel Stendal sealed a comfortable win in the dying seconds.
Red cards
VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach also took all three points as they picked up only their second win of the season at home against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. In a game marred by the red cards shown to Dimitrios Grammozis and Bernd Korzynietz for a 56th-minute scuffle, former German international Oliver Neuville scored two second-half goals to wrap up a 2-0 win and leave Kaiserslautern in the relegation zone.
