Levadia lift Estonian title

Members

FC Levadia Tallinn have clinched the 2004 Estonian Meistriliiga title to secure a league and cup double.

FC Levadia Tallinn have clinched the 2004 Estonian Meistriliiga title after a 3-1 victory at JK Tulevik Viljandi gave them an unassailable six-point lead with just one round of games remaining.

Third championship
The win took the side to 66 points, finally eliminating the hopes of FC TVMK Tallinn, who had tracked their city rivals all the way. Tarmo Rüütli's team lost just one game all season – against JK Trans Narva – to secure their third championship since the club's formation in 1998. The two previous titles came under their former name, FC Levadia Maardu, in 1999 and 2000.

Voskoboinikov departure
Levadia led from the start, beginning the season with four successive wins. The departure of Estonian Under-21 striker Vladimir Voskoboinikov to FC Brussels in August was a blow to Rüütli, but the team is built upon a solid defence that has conceded just 14 goals in 27 games and kept a record-breaking 17 clean sheets.

Landmark season
It has been a landmark season for Levadia and the title gives them a league and cup double after the club won the Estonian Cup in May with a comfortable 3-0 victory against TVMK.
