A survey commissioned by UEFA and the Swiss Football Association (SFV-ASF) has revealed that UEFA EURO 2008™ will be the biggest sports event ever held in Switzerland.
Huge turnover
The survey into the economic impact of the event in Switzerland by Rütter + Partner revealed that turnovers totalling around CHF 670 million and gross value added of about CHF 388 million will be generated - equivalent to that of a medium size Swiss corporation. The survey also showed that tourism will account for over 50% of the overall economic impact.
