Celtic appeal
Bjarnason, 17, said: "I have been on trial with quite a few clubs and Brøndby [IF], [SC] Heerenveen, Feyenoord and Stoke [City FC] all offered me a contract. But after coming to Celtic I had made up my mind where I wanted to go."
Fees to pay
Celtic are likely to have to pay a fee for the 18-year-old Finnbogason - who has recently been on on trial with FC Girondins de Bordeaux and has been capped for Iceland at Under-21 level - as he still has a year of his contract to run. There will also be compensation to pay for Bjarnason, who has played for his national U19 side, even though his deal ended this season.
