Left Lecce
The 44-year-old Rossi has signed a contract until the end of the season with the Bergamo side. Rossi was without a club having left US Lecce last summer after a successful two-year spell in which he gained promotion to Serie A and avoided relegation the following season.
Points needed
During his career Rossi has also coached Salernitana Sport, Foggia Calcio, Pescara Calcio and Genoa 1893. Atalanta are bottom of the table after 14 matches without a win in Serie A following Sunday's 1-0 defeat at US Città di Palermo.
High hopes
Ross saidi: "I'm very sorry for Mandorlini. I arrive here knowing that the situation is very complicated and I want to get to know the players as quickly as possible because we don't have much time to recover. I hope the veteran players will help me during these first days. We have several young and talented players but I don't want to charge them with too many responsibilities."
