Willy Reynders has been appointed to succeed Franky Van der Elst as coach of mid-table Belgian side KSC Lokeren OV for the rest of the season.

Previous spell
The 39-year-old was previously in charge of the first team at Lokeren from 1997 to 1999, twice finishing in the top six of the Belgian First Division and competing in the UEFA Intertoto Cup with Jan Koller leading the attack. Reynders has more recently worked as youth coach and chief scout at the club, and will resume these roles in the summer.

Seeing out the season
Sports director Willy Verhoost explained: "The intention is he will complete the season and then take on his old job." Van der Elst was sacked last week after a year in charge.
