Written in the stars

uefa.com concludes a two-part look back at the best of your emails from 2004.

By Sébastien Billington

The Portuguese did a superb job of organising UEFA EURO 2004™ and Greek heroics added to the magic of the event. FC Porto's 3-0 victory against AS Monaco FC in the final of the UEFA Champions League was equally impressive. The last year produced some memorable footballing moments and also its fair share of questions - as you will discover as we complete our two-part look back at the best of your emails to uefa.com.

Astro-analysis
Speaking of Greece's victory, Anna wrote in shortly before the final of the UEFA European Championship with her own shot at a little astro-analysis. She told us it would be a tough game and a game of uncertainty. Right so far. The stars were apparently shining stronger for Portugal than for Greece, but Anna also spoke of unexpected change, and the fact that it would probably be in favour of Greece. Anything to do with the winning goal scored by Angelos Charisteas in the 57th minute?

Predictions wanted
Johnny, who wrote in after taking up gambling as a solution to his financial difficulties - not something we would recommend - was hoping we could help him with a few predictions. Johnny, perhaps we could fix you up with Anna. She seems to be on to something.

More help offered
Steven, a hospital doctor somewhere in England, wrote in obviously keen to get tickets for the final of the European Championship. He offered his medical skills and touchline availability in return for a ticket he was also willing to pay for. A good effort but please apply for tickets via the official channels.

Special beds for divers
Again on the topic of medical care, we also heard from Paul. Yes, Paul, the game we all love is called football and not rolling around on the floor. Nor is it called diving, that usually involves a swimming pool. We also understand when you ask about making hospital beds wider. The consequence of getting tackled often results in a little rolling around, and wider beds could prevent players from doing even more harm to themselves. These are things we are looking into. We would certainly give our full support to any player on a roly-poly free diet in 2005.
