Thigh blow lays Jauregi low

Operation in Finland
The 30-year-old has failed to shake off a long-standing tendon injury and has opted to have an operation following a visit to specialist Sakari Orava. Jauregi, who has not played since October, will travel to Finland for the surgery on Tuesday and will need up to six months to recuperate.

Karpin doubt
Real's French defender Jérémie Brechet is still not fit after his achilles operation in September, while midfield player Valeri Karpin is doubtful for Sunday's trip to Primera División leaders FC Barcelona. Real are 13th in the 20-team Spanish top flight.
