Uruguayan forward Nico Olivera will join Primera División strugglers Albacete Balompié for the rest of the season, the Spanish club said on Tuesday. The 26-year-old, who joins from Defensor Sporting Club in his homeland, has previously played for Valencia CF, Sevilla FC and Real Valladolid in Spain, and will officially be unveiled on Wednesday.
Also moving on loan is Athletic Club Bilbao's 20-year-old defender Francisco Tarantino, who has joined CD Numancia until the end of June. Numancia have also recalled striker Rafael Jordá from his loan spell at third division side Club Multideporte Peralta, where he has scored ten goals since moving in the summer.
Promising Real Madrid CF midfield player Diego León has joined German side DSC Arminia Bielefeld on loan until June. The 20-year-old youth team product graduated to Madrid's reserve side last summer but his progress has been hampered by niggling injury worries. He will return to Madrid in July to see out the remaining year of his contract.
In Scotland, Dundee United FC have completed the signing of striker Stevie Crawford from English second level side Plymouth Argyle FC for a fee of €113,000. The 30-year-old former Dunfermline AFC and Hibernian FC player has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Tannadice club.
English Premiership club Birmingham City FC have received international clearance to buy Finnish Under-21 international striker Njazi Kuqi from FC Lahti. Late last month the 21-year-old signed a two-and-a-half year contract and moves for a fee of around €550,000. He will be free to make his debut in Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie against Leeds United AFC.Greek team Halkidona FC have signed Zimbabwean international striker Zenzo Moyo from Olympiakos Nicosia FC of Cyprus. The 29-year-old has signed an 18-month contract with the option for a two-season extension.
Elsewhere in the Alpha Ethniki, Brazilian striker Ederson Fofonka signed for Kerkira FC on a free transfer from Mexican club Tecos UAG. The 30-year-old, who previously played in Greece for Iraklis FC from 2001 until 2004, has signed a one-year contract with the option for a further six months.
