Transfer round-up: Ambitious Russian side FC Rubin Kazan have signed Rustem Khuzin for a third time.

English Premiership outfit Blackburn Rovers FC have signed their second international captain this week in New Zealand defender Ryan Nelsen from Major Soccer League side DC United. The 27-year-old has agreed an 18-month contract after a free transfer. Earlier this week South Africa captain Aaron Mokoena joined Blackburn.

Nigerian striker Ekundayo Jaiyeoba has joined Bulgarian Premier League challengers PFC Levski Sofia from champions PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv for €150,000. The
24-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half year contract. Levski have also secured three Bulgarian internationals on new contracts: goalkeeper Dimitar Ivankov and defender Georgi Markov have signed on until June 2006, and Elin Topuzakov, another defender, until June 2008.

BV Borussia Dortmund have agreed a new contract with defender Markus Brzenska, extending his previous deal by a further two years until 2008. The 20-year-old youth-team graduate has made eight Bundesliga appearances this term.

RAEC Mons, bottom of the Belgian first division, have taken RSC Anderlecht player Junior on loan until the summer. The 22-year-old can play in defence or midfield and coach Jos Daerden said: "I could use someone like him in the fight against relegation." The club have also signed two more players today; 24-year-old Cameroonian striker Jeremie Njock has penned a two-and-a-half year contract after leaving Romanian team FC Universitatea Craiova, while Croatian defender Ivan Milas, 29, has agreed a deal until the end of the season and joins from Bosnia-Herzegovina's NK Zrinjski.

Experienced French striker Wagneau Eloi has joined another Belgian side, RAA Louviéroise. The 31-year-old has signed an 18-month contract, having been without a club since leaving RC Lens last summer. La Louvière's French coach, Albert Cartier, said: "He will supply the experience we lack." Two other French players have joined the club's training camp in Turkey, midfield player Yero Dia from ES Wasquehal and SC Rouen left-back Laurent Montoya.

Swiss side Neuchâtel Xamax FC have also looked to France to bolster their squad, taking Angolan striker André Titi Buengo from Ligue 2 team Grenoble Foot 38. The
24-year-old has agreed an 18-month contract.

One player staying in France is left-back Sébastien Pérez, who has joined bottom side FC Istres until the end of the season. The 31-year-old defender has been without a club since leaving Olympique de Marseille in the summer, and has been training with Istres since November.

Defender Bas van den Brink has moved from Dutch team FC Utrecht to second division BVO Emmen. The
22-year-old, who has not played yet this season, will be loaned to Emmen until his Utrecht contract expires on 30 June, and will then sign a two-year deal with his new club.

Elsewhere in the Netherlands, RBC Roosendaal have signed midfield player Tyrone Loran from English side Tranmere Rovers FC. The Amsterdam-born 23-year-old has played in England since 2002, when he joined Manchester City FC from FC Volendam, moving to Tranmere the following February. Loran has signed a contract until summer 2007.

Norwegian defender Alexander Aas has moved to Danish Superliga team Odense BK on a free transfer, ending a nine-year association with Odd Grenland. Aas, 26, has signed a two-year contract and said: "I am proud of going to play for OB who I consider one of the great clubs in Denmark."

Two and a half years after leaving Brøndby IF, Kenneth Rasmussen is returning to Denmark from Helsingborg IF to join struggling Superliga club FC Nordsjælland . "For some time FC Nordsjælland have been on top of my wish list for a new club," he said. Nordsjælland have also extended defender Allan Olesen's loan deal until the end of the season.
