The Germany national team and a Bundesliga All-Star XI have helped raise €4m for the tsunami fund.

Crowd of 50,000
There were 50,000 spectators in the Arena AufSchalke for the game, which finished in a 2-2 draw with Bernd Schneider and Gerald Asamoah scoring for Germany and Roy Makaay and Marek Mintál responding for the All-Stars. Organised by the German Football Association (DFB) and German Football League (DFL), the match raised €4m plus an additional €200,000 sum pledged by the Germany squad.

'Football for Hope'
UEFA has donated €1.5m to the tsunami relief effort and has also joined forces with FIFA to organise a fund-raising 'Football for Hope' game at FC Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium on 15 February, featuring teams captained by Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko.
