The bottom two sides in the Alpha Ethniki, Apollon Kalamarias FC and Kerkira FC, have opted to change their coaches.
Poor results
Kerkira, who currently lie in 15th place in the 16-team Greek top flight, announced yesterday that they had parted company with Nikolaos Anastopoulos. The 46-year-old took charge in September 2003 and guided the club to promotion to the highest level of Greek football for the first time last season. However, Kerkira have gathered just 12 points from their first 14 matches and Anastopoulos has paid the price. His assistant coach, Manolis Papadopoulos, will be in charge for the next fixture against Halkidona FC.
Winless run
Today, meanwhile, another newly promoted side, Kalamarias, revealed that head coach Eduardo Amorin had left the club. The club have lost their last five league games and last won a match on 31 October – against Kerkira. Kalamarias have ten points, and reserve-team coach Nikolaos Zalikas will take temporary charge.
