Opening ceremony
The first of 30 such pitches planned for the country was opened at the national park in Ramat Gan, in a ceremony attended by UEFA Executive Committee member Marios N Lefkaritis (Cyprus), UEFA's national associations director Jacob Erel, Israel's education, culture and sports minister Limor Livnat, Israel Football Association chairman Itzhak Menahem and Ramat Gan mayor Tzvi Bar.
Community donation
"The mini-pitch is here to remind us all that professional football begins at and depends on the grassroots level and it is a great donation to the community," said Menahem.
Prototype minipitch
UEFA's HatTrick Board is offering a prototype mini-pitch to each UEFA member association to commemorate the European body's Golden Jubilee last year. The mini-pitch in question should be installed near to the association's headquarters and possibly close to, or on the premises of, a school.
