Rubins ready for Spartak

Members

FC Spartak Moskva have continued rebuilding for the 2005 season by signing Andrejs Rubins and Dmitri Khomich.

Plenty of experience
The 26-year-old Rubins, who played all three games for his country at UEFA EURO 2004™, has agreed a four-year deal. The winger, who began his career with FC Skonto, was on Spartak's books at the beginning of 2003 season but joined FC Shinnik Yaroslavl before playing a game. He also played in England for Crystal Palace FC and in Sweden with Östers IF.

Competition for places
The goalkeeping line at Spartak will be strengthened by the arrival of Khomich on a free transfer from FC Alania Vladikavkaz. He is reported to have signed a long-term deal at Spartak and is set to provide stiff competition for the club's No1, Polish international Wojciech Kowalewski.
