Article body
FC Vedrich-97 Rechitsa been refused a licence to play in the Belarussian Premier League in 2005.
Licensing problems
Vedrich won promotion to the top division last season but will continue to play in the second division in the coming season after they failed to bring their infrastructure up to the standards required by the Football Federation of Belarus. The club, who were well aware that their facilities and finances were unlikely to meet the required standard, have accepted the decision.
One team down
The decision leaves the Premier League one team short for the coming season. For the moment, there will only be 15 teams contesting what is usually a 16-team league.
