Bremen have last laugh

Werder Bremen recovered from a two-goal deficit to record a 3-2 win at VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.

Klose crucial
German international Thomas Brdaric gave Wolfsburg a half-time lead and Bremen's faltering grasp on their Bundesliga title looked to have slipped further when Pablo Thiam doubled the advantage four minutes into the second half. But within 60 seconds, Miroslav Klose had halved the deficit and the comeback had begun.

Super substitution
Ludovic Magnin restored parity on the hour and the game looked to be heading for a draw until Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf decided to bring on substitute striker Nelson Valdez, who duly struck the winner three minutes from time.

Sonck strikes
VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach were another team to come from behind and triumph by the odd goal in five, defeating SC Freiburg 3-2 at home. Soumaila Coulibaly gave Freiburg the lead on 13 minutes, but goals from Vaclav Sverkos and Wesley Sonck turned the tide before the break.

Struggling sides
Four minutes into the second half former AFC Ajax striker Sonck got his second goal of the game to seal a welcome win for Mönchengladbach, who move up a place to 14th. Freiburg, who pulled a goal back near the end through Sascha Riether, remain in 17th position.
