Yeste on the spot for Athletic

Athletic Club Bilbao booked their place in the Spanish Cup semi-finals thanks to Francisco Yeste's goal in a 1-0 victory at Real Valladolid.

Valladolid pay penalty
Leading 3-2 from the first leg at San Mamés, the Primera División side made certain of progress when Yeste tucked a 73rd-minute penalty past home goalkeeper Francisco Lledó. The spot-kick had been awarded for a foul on Joseba Etxeberria, the Spanish international winger whose dangerous low cross could have provided Athletic with an early goal in the opening exchanges. Athletic also hit the crossbar through Tiko.

Stalemate in Soria
The Basque team join CA Osasuna and Real Betis Balompié in the last four, with the fourth berth to be decided by the second-leg tie between Club Atlético de Madrid and CD Numancia on 16 February. The first match finished 0-0 in Soria.
