Bologna FC continued their recent revival with a 3-1 home win against Parma FC in the Emilia derby - the only Serie A match played on Thursday night.

Patient game
Second-half strikes from Andrea Sussi, Christian Amoroso and Claudio Bellucci won the game for a Bologna side which, before the interval, had largely controlled possession without being able to make the breakthrough.

Sussi strikes
That eventually came with Sussi's first goal for the club - a solo effort on 55 minutes - before Amoroso doubled the advantage seven minutes later, Parma goalkeeper Sébastien Frey being unable to keep out his close-range drive. Although teenager Tonino Sorrentino reduced the deficit on 87 minutes, Bologna sealed the victory when Bellucci scored after a counterattack.

Upwardly mobile
Bologna move up to ninth place in the table having taken 17 points from their last seven games, while Parma stay fourth from bottom, two points above the relegation zone.
