RSC Anderlecht's draw with RAA Louviéroise allowed Club Brugge KV to extend their lead at the top of the Belgian First Division to six points after coming from behind to win at KVC Westerlo.
Lange double
Philippe Clement cancelled out Jackson Coelho’s fourth-minute strike in the 14th minute with a header, before Rune Lange claimed a two-goal haul in the second half to secure three valuable points for Trond Sollied and his side, as they attempt to wrestle back the title from Anderlecht.
Point salvaged
Their aspirations were boosted after the reigning champions dropped two points at La Louvière. Wagneau Eloi converted a penalty to put the home side ahead in the 19th minute after Olivier Deschacht was adjudged to have handled in the area, before Aruna Dindane restored parity 12 minutes later.
Léonard strikes
R. Standard de Liège stayed on track for UEFA Cup qualification after prevailing against RAEC Mons 2-0. Philippe Léonard put them ahead after half an hour and Oguchi Onyewu decided the game ten minutes from time.
Kraouche winner
Standard remain three points in front of fourth-placed KRC Genk, who won at KSK Beveren. Orlando Engelaar gave the visitors a fourth-minute advantage, but Beveren levelled through Moussa Sanogo’s header after 66 minutes. However, Nenad Stojanovic finally brought Genk victory eight minutes from time. Two points further back, R. Charleroi SC also harbour hopes of European football next season following Nasredine Kraouche’s solitary strike after 30 minutes against K. Lierse SK.
Three see red
At the bottom, FC Molenbeek Brussels Strombeek moved a further point clear of the drop zone after a 1-1 draw at home with KAA Gent. Igor de Camargo brought the home side an early lead, before Davy de Beule equalised on 35 minutes. Brussels are now two points ahead of bottom club KV Oostende, who played for 57 minutes with nine men following the dismissals of Dimitri Habran and Zephirin Zoko in the 2-0 defeat at KSV Cercle Brugge. Paulus Roiha and Dieter Dekelver scored for the home team, who then had Roiha sent off on 69 minutes.
Tailson treble
Elsewhere, KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen won 1-0 at R. Excelsior Mouscron thanks to Jurgen Cavens’s goal, while a Tailson hat-trick inspired KSC Lokeren OV to a 4-3 victory against K. Sint Truidense VV.
