Gillot started the season as assistant to Joël Muller but stepped up on a contract until the end of the campaign following the latter's sacking in January. The team have since made steady progress, climbing three places to eleventh in Ligue 1 while playing attractive football. "The team have rediscovered the joy of playing," said club president Gervais Martel.
More extensions
Gillot's backroom staff - incorporating fellow former players Didier Sénac, Eric Sikora, Jean-Pierre Lauricella and Daniel Krawczyk - have also had their contracts extended.
