IFK Göteborg lead Royal League Group 2 midway through the second stage despite being pegged back for a 2-2 draw in Norway at Vålerenga IF in a match postponed from Matchday 1.
Hovi off
Since that game was called off, Göteborg have gained a 2-0 home win against SK Brann, who then held their domestic rivals. Today there was a blow for Norwegian side when captain Tom Henning Hovi was taken off injured on the half-hour to be replaced by Morten Berre.

Five minutes later, Peter Ijeh gave the visitors the lead and before the break it was two, Ijeh again on target. However, Vålerenga rallied and on 51 minutes Karl Svensson pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, and two minutes later, Berre equalised.
Fixtures resume
His side remain two points behind their Swedish rivals with the second set of matches to come, starting on 14 April with the return of this fixture in Gothenburg. Only the pool winners progress to the two-legged final next month where they will meet the first place team in Group 1 - currently led by Rosenborg BK, who welcome FC København on Thursday week.
