Atalanta BC coach Delio Rossi has resigned following the conclusion of the Serie A campaign. Rossi took over from Andrea Mandorlini in December when Atalanta had only seven points. Despite a strong second half of the season, Atalanta failed to beat the drop. "I did my best, working 24 hours a day to help Atalanta avoid relegation. Unfortunately I did not manage it, but now I want to carry on coaching in Serie A," he said.

In Serbia and Montenegro, Dragan Dzajic has confirmed his resignation as president of FK Crvena Zvezda. "My decision is irreversible because of my health. I wish Crvena Zvezda every success in the future," said the 59-year-old. The Belgrade club failed to secure any silverware this season having achieved a domestic double in the 2003/04 campaign.

BB Ankaraspor coach Samet Aybaba has extended his contract until summer 2006. The 50-year-old said: "We are a club that has big targets. My colleagues and I want to achieve bigger things at Ankaraspor." His team finished seventh in the Turkish top flight following promotion last season.

Rizespor coach Erdogan Arica has parted company with the Black Sea side. The club struggled to stay in the top ten and ended the season in tenth place, four positions worse than when the 50-year-old took over in February. Meanwhile, 26-year-old defender Ahmet Çagiran has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Turkish Superleague side Gençlerbirligi SK have announced they will not renew the contracts of captain Ümit Bozkurt, striker Mustafa Özkan and midfielder Ali Tandogan. Club president Ilhan Cavcav said they could not agree personal terms with the players. Cavcav also confirmed they have cancelled the contract of striker Atilla Birlik by mutual consent. Meanwhile, club officials are close to completing negotiations with Egyptian defender Abdel El Saka and he too is expected to leave the club.

Manchester City FC defender Stephen Jordan has signed a new two-year contract with the Premiership club. The homegrown Jordan, 23, broke into the first team last season, making 19 league appearances. City boss Stuart Pearce said: "He has done very well this season, particularly in the latter part of the campaign."

Belgian side K. Lierse SKhave announced the signing of Daniel Cruz. The 24-year-old Colombian midfielder arrives on a free transfer from KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen, having won the Belgium Cup against Club Brugge KV on Saturday. He has signed a three-year deal.

FC Utrecht have landed striker Marc Antoine Fortuné on a two-year contract from French outfit Stade Brestois 29. The 23-year-old will join fellow newcomers, goalkeeper Franck Grandel from ES Troyes Aube Champagne and AZ Alkmaar striker Robin Nelisse, at the Eredivisie club.

Germany's 1. FC Nürnberg have signed 29-year-old Tunisian international Jawher Mnari on a two-year contract from Espérance Sportive de Tunis. "Jawhar is an experienced international and we are happy he has decided to accept our offer," said Nürnberg sporting director Martin Bader. Bundesliga new boys MSV Duisburg will be without striker Josef Ivanovic for at least four months after the 31-year-old suffered cruciate ligament damage.

Armenian champions FC Pyunik defeated FC Banants 1-0 to claim their first silverware this year, the Armenian Super Cup, the fourth such success in their history.
