News round-up: Injury could rule IFK Göteborg midfield player Håkan Mild out of the Royal League final.

IFK Göteborg midfield player Håkan Mild could miss the Royal League final later this month after sustaining a knee injury. The former Sweden international has damaged his cruciate ligament and although the full extent of the injury is not yet known, he is likely to be sidelined until mid-June. IFK physio Johan Sandberg said: "It's hard to assess the exact damage as his knee is still swollen, but it generally takes six weeks to heal an injury like this."

Scottish Premier League strugglers Dunfermline AFC have parted company with manager David Hay, assistant Billy Kirkwood and first-team coach Paul Hegarty after they were consigned to the foot of the table on Saturday. The club, who finished fourth and reached the Scottish Cup final last season, announced that the former Celtic FC manager had been relieved of his duties with three games remaining, after the side lost 2-0 to relegation rivals Livingston FC and slipped to three points adrift of safety.

VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach

Midfield player Florian Kringe has committed himself to a further two years at BV Borussia Dortmund. The 22-year-old has signed an extension to his current deal, tying himself to the club until the summer of 2008. Kringe has enjoyed a successful first season since breaking into the starting eleven in September, making 28 Bundesliga appearances and last month scoring his first goal in the 1-1 draw against DSC Arminia Bielefeld.

FK Baku and FK Inter Baku will contest the Azerbaijani Cup final after overcoming MKT Araz Imishli and in-form FK Khazar Lenkoran in their respective semi-final ties.

In Moldova, meanwhile, FC Dacia Chisinau and FC Nistru Otaci will meet in the cup final on 21 May after narrow semi-final wins against lower-league side FC Politehnica Chisinau and FC Tiligul Tiraspol respectively.
