A Dennis Bergkamp-inspired Arsenal FC provided a dazzling display of attacking football at Highbury as they brushed aside UEFA Champions League qualifiers Everton FC 7-0 on Wednesday.

Van Persie opener
Robin van Persie scored his ninth goal of the season after just eight minutes thanks to a superb pass from the 36-year-old Dutchman Bergkamp, the two forwards linking as a perfect pass was met with a confident finish from the young striker.

Cool finish
Bergkamp continued to orchestrate matters for the home team and by half-time they were three goals to the good, Robert Pires adding a second two minutes after the opener before Patrick Vieira finished coolly after yet more fine work by Bergkamp seven minutes before the interval.

Home force
Pires scored his second of the evening on 50 minutes before Edu thumped in a penalty 20 minutes later. Mikel Arteta and James Beattie both had chances for Everton, but Arsenal's dominance was almost total.

Flamini finishes scoring
Bergkamp deservedly joined the list of scorers after 77 minutes, squeezing the ball past Richard Wright at the near post, before young Frenchman Mathieu Flamini completed the scoring as Arsenal emphasised their superiority in devastating fashion.
