Bøgelund buy boosts Mönchengladbach

VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed Danish international Kasper Bøgelund from PSV Eindhoven.

'Experienced international'
The right-sided defender has agreed a three-year contract, although the financial terms of the transfer remain undisclosed. "He is a very experienced international but still a young player," Mönchengladbach director Peter Pander said of the 24-year-old, who has 14 Denmark caps and played twice for his country at UEFA EURO 2004™.

'Danish tradition'
Bøgelund also won four Eredivisie titles in six seasons with PSV, yet he is relishing the challenge of Mönchengladbach and the Bundesliga. "This is what I want," he said. "[International team-mates] Christian Poulsen and Ebbe Sand have told me a lot of positive things about the Bundesliga while Mönchengladbach have a big Danish tradition - a lot of players from back home became stars here."
