News round-up: Hannover 96 have signed German international striker Thomas Brdaric from VfL Wolfsburg.

Hannover 96 have signed Germany striker Thomas Brdaric from Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee. The 30-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Volkswagenarena, ending a one-season spell with Wolfsburg. He scored 12 goals in 32 games as the side finished ninth, but has decided to return to Hannover, where he spent the 2003/04 season on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Hannover have also secured the signature of PFC Slavia Sofia's Bulgarian international Chavdar Yankov on a one-year loan deal, which carries with it an optional four-year full-contract clause.

Brazilian left-back Edson has moved from UD Leiria to Sporting Clube de Portugal for an undisclosed fee, pending a medical on Monday. The 28-year-old had an outstanding season as Leiria avoided relegation last term, scoring five goals in 24 matches. "This is a dream," Edson said. "All the players who are in average teams want to move to bigger teams. I’m very happy to achieve this goal."

Paul Lambert has made his first signing since taking the reins at Livingston FC, bringing in French goalkeeper Ludovic Roy. The 27-year-old former Saint Mirren FC custodian had been out of contract at second division club Ayr United FC and has committed to two years at Almondvale.

Veteran Motherwell FC duo Gordon Marshall and Phil O'Donnell have both signed new one-year deals with the Scottish Premier League outfit. Goalkeeper Marshall, 41, will play his 24th season of professional football next season after missing just five games as Terry Butcher’s side finished sixth last term. Meanwhile, 33-year-old O'Donnell will enjoy his eighth season at the club.

Newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Le Mans UC 72 have bolstered their squad ahead of their return to France's top flight by signing goalkeeper Rodolphe Roche on a two-year contract from LB Châteauroux. The 25-year-old made 17 appearances for the second-division outfit last season.

AC Ajaccio have once again dipped into the Brazilian transfer market, this time snapping up 21-year-old Fluminese FC centre-back Antônio Carlos. The Corsican outfit have secured the Brazilian Under-21 international's services for the next five years. Elsewhere at the club, both André Luiz and Nenad Dzodic have been handed two-year extensions.

Ligue 1 newcomers ES Troyes Aube Champagne have further strengthened their squad with the signing of Grenoble Foot 38 midfield player Gaël Danic for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old, who scored a career-best nine goals last season, has agreed a three-year deal, and will play alongside while highly-rated playmaker Benjamin Nivet, who has committed to the club for another four years.

Reggina Calcio coach Walter Mazzarri has extended his contract with the Serie A club until 2007. The 43-year-old Mazzarri, who arrived at the Granillo stadium last summer after leading AS Livorno Calcio to Serie A promotion, helped Reggina to an eleventh-placed finish. His contract had been due to expire next summer.

Manchester City FC have extended their loan deal with Club Atlético de Madrid's 28-year-old midfield player Kiki Musampa after a succesful six-month stint since moving to the Premiership club in January.
