Leiria look to European campaign

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at CD Das Aves, playing 31 games in the second tier, but has now signed a two-year contract with Leiria. Meanwhile, the club have allowed 27-year-old winger Renato Queirós to return to FC Paços de Ferreira, who have just been promoted back to the Portuguese top flight as II Liga champions.

Leiria will enter the Intertoto Cup in the third round next month, when they will play the winners of a tie involving Hamburger SV and either FK Smederevo or FK Pobeda, of Serbia and Montenegro and F.Y.R. Macedonia respectively.
