The twice-capped player agreed a four-year deal with Deportivo in February and was able to finalise the move on Tuesday after passing a medical at the Spanish club. De Guzman arrives on a free transfer, having reached the end of his contract with German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 where he spent three seasons.
'Easy decision to make'
The 23-year-old from Ontario will join the Deportivo squad for pre-season training on 21 June as new coach Joaquín Caparrós's first signing. "Having seen Deportivo in action, it was a very easy decision to make," De Guzman, formerly with 1. FC Saarbrücken and Olympique de Marseille's youth academy, said. The Riazor club finished eighth in the Primera División to qualify for the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
