Mini-pitch towers over Sarajevo

Hattrick

Bosnia-Herzegovina have become the latest beneficiaries of the UEFA Jubilee mini-pitch programme.

Top of the city
Funds from UEFA's HatTrick assistance programme have helped build a pitch in Sarajevo, 856 metres above sea level at one of the most visible points in the Bosnia-Herzegovnian capital. The mini-pitch in the Stari Grad district is close to the offices of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation (NSBiH).

Grand launch
UEFA HatTrick and charity project manager Patrick Gasser joined local councillors and dignitaries, NSBiH executive committee and board members at the launch of the pitch, which will give youngsters a chance to play football safely in an urban environment. "This pilot project has shown that different levels of local authorities can achieve great projects," said NSBiH president Iljo Dominkovic. "In co-operation with UEFA we will continue to build mini-pitches across the country."

HatTrick offer
UEFA's HatTrick board offered a prototype mini-pitch to each UEFA member association as European football's governing body celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2004. The mini-pitches have all been installed near associations' headquarters and close to, or on the premises of, a school.
