Eager to sign
The 27-year-old Ivorian international is believed to have cost the capital club more than the €6m Auxerre paid Feyenoord for his services two years ago, although the fee has not been disclosed. PSG general manager Jean-Michel Moutier described Kalou as "one of the finest strikers in the French league", adding that "he absolutely wanted to come to Paris".
Out on a high
Kalou's last act in an Auxerre shirt was the winning goal in the dying moments of the 2-1 French Cup final victory against CS Sedan-Ardennes on 4 June. However, he spurned the chance to play for Auxerre in the forthcoming UEFA Cup, a competition he won with Feyenoord in 2002, to join PSG who will not play in Europe next season.
Landrin arrival
The forward scored seven goals in the 2004/05 UEFA Cup and also registered nine times in Ligue 1. He is PSG's second summer signing after the acquisition of LOS Lille Métropole winger Christophe Landrin earlier this month. Meanwhile, Romain Rocchi, 23, has left the Parc des Princes for AC Ajaccio. The midfielder, who spent last term on loan at SC Bastia, joins the other Corsican club on a three-year deal.
