One-year contract
Pillon, 49, left Treviso FC after they missed out on promotion from Serie B following a play-off defeat by AC Perugia. He has signed a one-year contract with Chievo, with an option for a further season.
Top-flight bow
Pillon has also worked at AS Bari, Ascoli Calcio, AC Pistoiese, Genoa 1893 and Padova Calcio in Serie B but is making his top-flight coaching debut. Chievo finished 15th in Serie A after replacing the sacked Mario Beretta with assistant Maurizio D'Angelo for the last three games of the campaign.
