News round-up: ACF Fiorentina have signed midfielder Cristian Brocchi on a season-long loan from AC Milan.

French UEFA Champions League contenders AS Monaco FC have awarded defender Olivier Veigneau his first professional contract. The 19-year-old, who appeared in the French League Cup last term, has agreed a three-year deal at the Stade Louis II.

Also in France, UEFA Cup hopefuls AJ Auxerre have allowed 21-year-old defender Michaël Ciani to join CS Sedan-Ardennes - the side Auxerre defeated in the French Cup final - on a one-year loan. Ciani moved to Auxerre from Belgian First Division outfit R. Charleroi SC last summer, but is yet to make his first-team debut.

Ionikos FC have extended defender Pierre Issa's contract by two years, with the option of a further term with the Greek club. The 29-year-old South African international has played 15 league games for the Alpha Ethniki side since joining in January, scoring once.

Meanwhile, newly-promoted Levadiakos FC have completed the signing of Bulgarian midfield player Ivan Rusev on a free transfer. The 26-year-old has inked a two-year contract after being released by AEK Athens FC. Rusev spent three seasons with UEFA Cup participants AEK, during which he had loan spells at Athinaikos FC, Apollon Athinon FC and Egaleo FC.

Estonian international defender Sander Post has left FC Flora for Danish first division side Vejle BK. The 20-year-old has joined Vejle on a one-year loan worth €50,000 to his current employers, while the Danish team have the option of paying an additional €170,000 to make the move permanent next year. Post, who became a Flora regular this season, has 16 Under-21 caps and made his senior debut against Hungary in December.

Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski are within touching distance of lifting the Polish Cup after a 2-0 home win against Zaglebie Lubin in the final first leg. Midfielder Piotr Piechniak put Groclin in front in the 28th minute, and striker Bartosz Slusarski doubled the advantage three minutes later ahead of the return on 21 June.

FC Metalist Kharkiv have appointed Myron Markevich as their new coach, replacing Aleksandr Zavarov who parted company with the Ukrainian Premier League club at the season's end. The 54-year-old was formerly in charge of FC Karpaty Lviv, leading them to a top-three finish in 1997/98 as well as the Ukrainian Cup final in 1993 and 1999 - losing on both occasions to FC Dynamo Kyiv.
