Zeman to leave Lecce

Members

US Lecce coach Zdenek Zeman and Daniele Arrigoni of Cagliari Calcio are both leaving their posts.

'Disturbing rumours'
"Relations with the coach deteriorated towards the end of the season, and rumours about possible moves to other clubs had already caused a disturbance," Semeraro said. "When he admitted he did have contacts with another club before our final game of the season, we decided not to renew his contract."

Healthy position
The Czech coach guided Lecce to tenth in Serie A after joining the club in June last year. His side scored 66 goals last season - only one goal less than the champions Juventus FC - but conceded 73, the worst defensive record in the league.

All change
Zeman is the third coaching change since the end of the Serie A season on Sunday. Francesco Guidolin has been replaced at US Città di Palermo by Luigi Del Neri, and Giuseppe Papadopulo has left S.S. Lazio.

Arrigoni gone
Cagliari Calcio coach Daniele Arrigoni will be the fourth after he announced on Friday that he would be leaving the Sardinian club this summer after just one season, although the destination of the Cesena-born manager is not yet publicly known. "I have the chance to work closer to my hometown," he said.

Well travelled
"I have moved between four different towns in the last four years and all of them were far away from my home," he added. "It's time for me to move closer to my family. It's only for this reason that I'm leaving Cagliari and I refused an offer from [US] Lecce."

Wide experience
The 45-year-old coach, who led Cagliari to 12th place in his first Serie A season, arrived at the Sant'Elia from Frosinone Calcio after coaching FC Messina Peloro and US Città di Palermo in the previous seasons.
