Lazio take a chance on Tare

S.S. Lazio have signed experienced Albanian forward Igli Tare from relegated Bologna FC for an undisclosed fee.

One-year deal
The former 1. FC Kaiserslautern striker, who will turn 32 next week, has agreed a one-year contract with the Serie A side. He scored five goals in 26 games for Bologna last season, including one in a narrow defeat by his new employers – a match he was later dismissed in – and another in the relegation play-off defeat by Parma FC.

Germany spell
Tare's move ends a two-year stay at the Dall'Ara stadium, and Lazio become his third Italian club after a prior spell at Brescia Calcio. But it was in Germany where Tare made his name, scoring 28 times in four seasons at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Kaiserslautern, at better than a goal every three outings.

Tampere tie
He will play no part in the return leg of Lazio's Intertoto Cup third-round tie against Tampere United on Saturday. The Rome outfit won the first instalment 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend. Either Olympique de Marseille or BSC Young Boys await in the semi-finals.
