The 30-year-old tore cruciate ligaments in a friendly match and faces six months on the sidelines. Kauf made 31 league appearances last season, and Arminia sporting director Reinhard Saftig said: "His injury is a catastrophe for us." Previously with VfB Stuttgart, the veteran has played 127 Bundesliga games in four campaigns in Bielefeld.
