News round-up: Charlton Athletic FC have taken defender Gonzalo Sorondo on loan from FC Internazionale Milano.

Across the Channel, Korean Republic forward Jung-Hwan Ahn has signed a one-year contract with Ligue 1 side FC Metz. The 29-year-old arrives from Yokohama F-Marinos, having previously spent two seasons in Europe with Italian team AC Perugia. However, Ahn left Italy in 2002, soon after scoring the golden goal that eliminated the Azzurri from that year's FIFA World Cup.

Olympique Lyonnais have allowed midfielder Yacine Hima to join Ligue 2 outfit LB Châteauroux on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old penned his first professional contract with the French champions a year ago, but has yet to make a first-team appearance.

Châteauroux have also recruited Serbia and Montenegro right-back Predrag Ocokoljic on a two-year deal from Toulouse FC. The 27-year-old former FK Obilic player's 2004/05 campaign was wrecked by injury. Another man heading to Ligue 2 is Olympique de Marseille reserve goalkeeper Jérémy Gavanon. The 24-year-old is switching to Clermont Foot Auvergne for one season.

Cameroonian defender Jacques Momha has agreed a two-year deal to join second-division Stade Lavallois FC from French League Cup winners RC Strasbourg. The 22-year-old was a key member of the Strasbourg side that won promotion to the top flight in 2001/02, but appeared in just two Ligue 1 games last season.

In Spain, Getafe CF have reached an agreement to sign Albacete Balompié midfielder Pablo Redondo on a three-year contract. The 23-year-old scored five goals in 32 league matches last term as Albacete were relegated from the élite. Redondo will be unveiled on Friday along with fellow new boys Daniel González Güiza and Nano.

RCD Mallorca have made Argentinian right-back Francisco Maciel their fourth summer acquisition. The 27-year-old, who has spent the last three campaigns with Real Murcia CF, has agreed a one-year deal with the option of a further year. Maciel appeared 34 times in the Segunda División for Murcia in 2004/05.

Real Betis Balompié midfielder Antonio Álvarez Ito has cancelled his contract with the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. The 30-year-old former CF Extremadura and RC Celta de Vigo player, capped once by Spain against Russia in 1998, becomes the second player in a week to cut his ties with Betis after Ismael López left the Seville club. Ito played 32 games on loan at RCD Espanyol last term.

Promoted Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg have landed Slovenian international striker Klemen Lavric from 1. FC Dynamo Dresden. Lavric has put pen to paper on a four-year contract. The transfer fee for the 24-year-old, who hit 17 goals for Dresden last season, is thought to be aroung €1m. "Klemen is an outstanding striker and we are delighted at sealing the deal," said Duisburg president Walter Hellmich.

Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen FC have signed striker Steve Lovell from Dundee FC for €360,000. The 24-year-old has agreed a three-year deal.

Dutch team RBC Roosendaal have signed Portuguese Under-21 international Edgar Marcelino on a one-year loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal. The 20-year-old forward played, also on loan, at FC Penafiel last season.
