Fulham FC have signed Danish left-back Niclas Jensen from Germany's BV Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee. The 30-year-old international, who has accepted a two-year deal, played in the English Premiership with Manchester City FC in the 2002/03 season. "This summer has proved very productive," said Fulham manager Chris Coleman. "I am confident we have everything in place for the new campaign."

Another Dane on the move is 34-year-old former Odense BK and FC København midfielder Carsten Hemmingsen, who is back in the Danish top flight after a spell at lower-division Vejle BK, joining AGF Århus. "Having played 12 years at the highest level in Denmark, I have a lot of experience to pass on to the many youngsters at AGF," he said.

Meanwhile, Hannover 96 and United States defender Steven Cherundolo will miss the opening games of the upcoming Bundesliga season after damaging a knee ligament. The 26-year-old sustained the injury in his country's 3-1 win against Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final and is expected to be out for up to eight weeks.

RC Celta de Vigo have handed Brazilian veteran Everton Giovanella a one-year contract extension which keeps the 34-year-old at Balaídos until June 2006. The Spanish club have also reached an agreement to sign Real Racing Club Santander's 28-year-old forward Javi Guerrero, who scored eight goals in 33 games last term, on a three-year deal.

Sevilla FC have confirmed that Uruguayan forward Germán Hornos will continue on loan at Real Valladolid next season. The 22-year-old, who has three seasons remaining on his contract, only recently returned to action having recovered from injuries sustained in a car accident last December.

Remco van der Schaaf has returned to SBV Vitesse after a three-year spell at PSV Eindhoven. The 26-year-old midfielder rejoins for an undisclosed fee after making just 39 Dutch Eredivisie appearances in three seasons due to a string of injuries. He has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Arnhem club. "I am very happy to be able to get back home," said Van der Schaaf.

Belarussian Premier League strugglers FC Zvezda-VA-BGU Minsk have switched coaches with Yuri Antonovich taking over first-team duties and head coach Sergei Gomonov stepping down to train the reserves. Winless Zvezda have taken two points from 13 games this season and are hoping former player Antonovich, 38, can kickstart a push for survival.

Bulgarian outfit PFC Beroe Stara Zagora's Croatian coach Hans Kodric has made his first major signings ahead of the new season, bringing in compatriots Viktor Spisic, a 22-year-old midfielder, and 21-year-old defender Vanja Dzaferovic from NK Sisak on two-year deals.
