Serious illness
Regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers ever to grace Maltese football, Cluett passed away in a hospital in England on Sunday after losing his battle against a serious illness.
Record breaker
Having started out at Melita FC, Cluett spent the best years of his career with Floriana FC and went 736 minutes without conceding a goal in the 1993/94 season - a national record to this day.
International class
He made his international debut in a 2-2 draw against Portugal on 29 March 1987 and went on to win a further 68 caps. He later had spells with Gozo FC and Birkirkara FC before returning to Floriana. Last season he was goalkeeping coach at Msida St. Joseph FC.
