US Lecce have appointed Silvio Baldini as their new coach, a day after parting company with Angelo Gregucci.
Empoli spell
The 47-year-old Baldini made his name at Empoli FC leading the club from Tuscany to Serie A promotion in 2001/02. After helping his side to keep their Serie A status the following season, he coached US Città di Palermo in 2003/04 and FC Parma in 2004/05 but was sacked midway through the season at both clubs.
Sunday debut
Lecce are currently second from bottom in Serie A with just one point after five games. Baldini will make his debut as coach on Sunday, when his side will play host to Cagliari Calcio.
